Join our newest chef, Wendy, from Costa Rica, and learn how to make a delightful breakfast typical from Costa Rica with gallo pinto, eggs, and bacon. It’s sure to start your day off right!
Please be mindful of the time of the class you sign up for and your own time zone. After registration, you will receive a link to the Zoom online meeting session we will use.
Ingredients & Preparation
Have your ingredients pre-measured and prepped before the class for a more seamless experience.
If you do not have certain ingredients, our chefs will do their best to suggest substitutions.
Before class: Please cook the rice and beans and pre-chop the vegetables.
Costa Rican Breakfast
Serves 2 people
Gallo Pinto
1 cup of cooked white rice
1 cup of cooked red or black beans
1 tablespoon of chopped garlic
1 tablespoon of chopped onions
1 tablespoon of chopped bell peppers
1 tablespoon of chopped cilantro
1/2 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce (optional)
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
hot sauce (optional) such as this Costa Rican one
Package of bacon
Eggs
1-2 eggs per person
1 clove of garlic
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon butter
Equipment
Certain commonly used kitchen tools are not listed here, such as cutlery, dishes, mixing bowls, pots, and pans. Any additional equipment is listed here.

General Steps:
Cook the bacon.
Make the gallo pinto.
Scramble the eggs.
Serve on a plate all together and enjoy!
