Italian Wine Tasting and Cooking Class

4:00 PM - 5:30 PM Pacific Time

Wine and dine with a master sommelier while cooking appetizers with a chef from Italy!

In partnership with our friends at Crunchy Red Fruit, experience an in-depth wine tasting created specifically to accompany this recipe. During class, you will cook three different crostini with Gaia and a master sommelier will guide you through tasting various pairings of hand-selected wines.

Reserve a spot in class through The Table Less Traveled and purchase the wines to taste in class by heading over to Crunchy Red Fruit and selecting the curated box for this class. Purchase your wines by Friday, July 3rd to guarantee shipment by class date.

Ingredients & Preparation

Have your ingredients pre-measured and prepped before the class for a more seamless experience.

If you do not have certain ingredients, our chefs will do their best to suggest substitutions.


Crostini
Serves 2-3

  • Italian bread or any bread of your choice (4 slices per person)

Zucchini Topping
Paired with Colle Stefano Rosa di Elena Rosé

  • 1 onion

  • 2-3 zucchini

  • Mint

  • Oregano

  • A few teaspoons white wine vinegar

Mushroom Topping
Paired with Castellani Chianti Colli Senesi 

  • 300 (4 cups) grams mushrooms, cleaned and sliced

  • A bunch of parsley

  • A glass of white wine

Cannellini Bean Cream Topping
Paired with Talamonti Trabochetto Pecorino

  • 1 can cannellini beans or white kidney beans

  • Rosemary

  • Pancetta in cubes (or sliced bacon if not available)

  • 4 garlic cloves

  • Salt

  • Black pepper

  • Chilli powder

  • Extra virgin olive oil

Equipment

Certain commonly used kitchen tools are not listed here such as cutlery, dishes, mixing bowls, pots, and pans. Any additional equipment is listed here.

  • blender/hand-blender

  • 3 or 4 small and/or medium frying pan

  • Oven

  • 3 wine glasses per person

General Steps

  1. Prepare crostini toppings.

  2. Enjoy your appetizer with each of your wines!
